"Linux often fails, simply because it isn't robust enough. Contractors
know this but fear the wrath of the Linux community." - Dvorak

pretty interesting opinion piece....several comments include: linux
cannot handle the loads on an irc, which makes me wonder how it could
handle the flood of data from the providers any better than
nt4/win2000; and, it's being dumped (ie, booted) in the business arena
because it ain't robust enough to handle industrial strength app's, so
now it's targeted as an os (with beos as a competitor) for the sub-$200
puter market. that doesn't sound particularly encouraging for a trading
platform.

i get the impression that linux will always remain a quaint hacker os
and a neverending wannabe microsloth slayer for those who hate gates.
