With regard to market data translation utilities( Rolf Quam
<rquam@xxxxxxxxxx> ), one pioneering individual was Chris
Cooper who started the company Technical Tools. This goes
years back but he wrote two programs Quote Butler and
Continuous Contractor which translated and combined MANY data
formats. He was in the business of selling data and these tools he
made available to his customers.
He sold Techtools and i don't believe they continued to develop the
software (quite hard to keep up with data formats etc). you may
find old copies of these around somewhere, maybe techtools
knows something.
a company called Glance has recently come up with a new version
of a program called Data Master II $325 US which does some of
these tasks. http://www.glancedata.com it seems that you can
get 25yrs of data (maybe clean) for the same price of $325 US at
