W98 is supposed to have solved the memory loss problem and fixed other subtle problems of W95.

AJ I have notuiced a memeory loss and eventually a lock-up associated with
corrupted news server files.  In that case the solution was to delete  from
the BMI server subdirestory.

hdlindb.idx &dat
storydb.idx &dat
srccat.idx &dat

then restart the server
