I am at a loss to understand why this thread is going on for so
long.

EOD means End Of Day which means that this version of Metastock cannot
read a file of intraday data. There is a (more expensive) RT version of
MS which does support intraday charts.

So, the answer is that MS V.10 EOD does not support intraday
charts.
