Hi Mr. Distinque:

Thanks  for sharing you methods with us. I agree with your soap box orations, please continue them.

My nearest translation for Sempre Avanti is Always Forward. Is this correct?

Would you translate EGO Sum Qua EGO Sum?

Does Mr. Distinque mean the same as the French Homme Distingue?

Define HA charts and can they be created in Metastock?

Don’t expect anything much to come out of Equis. The current owners are not much interested in developing it into a world beater program. During the days of DOS there  was  a program called TAS, technical analysis scanner, which enabled the user to do programming under  Metastock. It was easy to use.  However Equis had a falling out with the owner and wouldn’t list it in their catalog.

Roy Larsen [rlarsen@xxxxxxxxxx] has shown how to use Metastock more effectively. While he  has discontinued his newsletter, he might be  willing  to sell the back issues. [ Disclaimer. I have no financial interest in Roy Larson’s business].

Warm regards

Lionel

I agree completely on the Headley stuff.  I use to use his bands but gave them up for 5 period ma.  One based on the high for the upper band and one based on the lower band.  Works perfect for me.  W%R, like all trend based osclators can be great if you can see and correctly apply what they are telling you.  I dumped Headley stuff, all of which is free on the internet, for candles, Stoch and the ma price bands.

I am learning to correctly read HA charts.  They show some real potential for riding a trend.  A bonus I am still looking at is the HA prices improved the Stoch.  I stumbled on this because I have to convert the raw price data to HA chart price data and display that in a candlestick format.  If I could just do this in MA with the raw prices like MT4, life would be better.

I caught another "opps" in the addons was in a webcast by Nisen.  He is now claiming all other candle packages are defective except "his" Ninja addon. (for a monthly fee) I emailed both Nisen and MS asking for a comment on this, months ago, and am still awaiting a reply.  I have coded proper candle pattern explorers and advisors.  The one thing I found is a full blown candle explorer/advisor grinds forever when looking at all the candle patterns

I gave up on the wait and now just use the Stoch to explore.  One additional catch to it.  I want it to break out of the oversold/overbought 20/80 zones in a crossover by at least 15 points.  Simple but really filters the junk.  I also play with one that does not include the oversold/overbought filters if I am feeling lucky or get in late on a move.  I review the selection list candle patterns, support and resistance.  Not much else.  The dogs tails are still wagging because it is paying for their dog food.

Here are the explorer buy and sell

If(Cross(Stoch( 8, 3),Mov(Stoch( 8, 3),3,S)) AND Ref(Stoch(8,3),-1) <= 20 AND Stoch(8,3) > 20 AND Stoch(8,3) - Ref(Stoch(8,3),-1) >= 15,1,0)

If(Cross(Mov(Stoch( 8, 3),3,S),Stoch( 8, 3)) AND Ref(Stoch( 8, 3),-1) >= 80 AND Stoch( 8, 3) < 80 AND Ref(Stoch(8,3),-1) - Stoch(8,3) >= 15,1,0)

Remember they are worth every penny you paid for them.

Agreed. I bought MS11 to stay current. The new systems are hardly useful and I find myself using none of the new MS11 features. Tell me I am missing something useful please, forum people..
And yes. I run currency pairs using MT4 platform withg free data from an Aussie broker and see that the MS bars and data are a tad slower in forming RT compared to MT4.
I was also part of a local forum meeting where Equis staff presented Headley's add-on and raved about the Williams %R system in it. I am sorry but that system is a B- at best. more like a C grade. hate it when sales people just try to sell you stuff without concern for how it compares to say some simple systems that anyone can write. Throw in a name like Headley and you have a add-on to sell to your client base.
I would really like to see us find a free source for RT data so that we can do away with paying $1300 a year for QuoteCenter data every year.
Metastock really needs to hire someone on staff that can be more discriminating on whats a good add-on and whats not. Or they need to use a true effective beta group to evaluate these changes before zinging us with a 50 more indicators and systems that don't make you money. They need to remember that they can succeed if they met our real needs - which is to make moeny.
