color=#0000ff size=2>1.    A chart (created by File -> New 
-> Chart or the New button)

color=#0000ff size=2>2.    A smartchart (created by File -> 
Open -> Chart or opening up a stock from an exploration)

color=#0000ff size=2>The new chart button always opens up with the default 
template.

<FONT face=Arial 
color=#0000ff size=2>The first time you open up a smart chart it will use the 
default template.  <FONT 
face=Arial color=#0000ff size=2>If you make any changes to a smart chart they 
are automatically saved - it doesn't ask you.

color=#0000ff size=2>If you want to go back to your original default template, 
you need to right click on the chart, apply template, double click 
default.  This will create a new chart with the default template (your old 
smart chart will still be open).  If you want to Save this new chart with 
the default template over your smart chart, it's a little painful, but here 
goes... Click on Window and select your old smart chart.  Close down that 
smart chart.  Click on Window again and go back to the new chart.  
Click File -> Save As, change the type to Smart Chart then click 
Save.

hello all,
 
When opening fresh downloaded eod charts I noticed 
a phenomenon in MS 8.0
I analyze the stock, throw some trendlines 
in, get a few indicators, and after all being done, I close the chart 
without saving it.
than next day with an updated eod data, I open the 
chart again, but instead of it to open with my default template, it opens with 
the scribble from the day before!
Does anyone know why and how to overcome 
this?
