I know you are correct. Maybe because Metastock is owned by Reuters but 
they have helped me before even when I thought a stock spike was actually 
bad data. I have never had to use Reuters help desk but that would be the next 
logical step. I find it strange that they would have such weird indices symbols. 
e.g.: $trin is .stin.n 
get back to you on Monday or Tuesday with an update.Regards

  Martin the symbol for Gold depends on your data provider.  Metastock 
  has no data of its own.  Don't bother calling Metastock.  If you are 
  using Reuters data then you need to use the Reuters symbol.  If you use 
  eSignal, use theirs, if you use Qcharts, use theirs, etc.  They are 
  most likely all probably slightly different.
