It is almost impossible, with current international legislation ( i
stand corrected ) to sell a registered copy of software on to a third
party....
Once registered the copy has an owner...it will be impossible for the
owner to sell the copy on to 'a n other'....
This is a Licence issue and not copyright or a patent issue...
However if the copy is NOT REGISTERED and it is a boxed original,
then there is no way that copy can't be sold...
If ebay can prove that is the case then they can take Equis on, and
probably win...
Comments from 'more learned' would be appreciated however....
