I will re-post it here as it is of such great use to Win98 users. To force
Windows to use all available RAM before using the swapfile add:

ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1

to the 386[Enh] section of system.ini.

You should be able to find the reference in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

Some time ago, someone posted a tip on how to make Win 9x *NOT* use
the swap file at all until all physical RAM had been exhausted.
Anyone know how this is done, and if so, send me a private note on
what to change the ini file (or whatever needs to be changed)?
