The details are different on various Windows versions, but press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and you will get windows task manager. Click on the Performance dropdown and you can see your memory usage as you run and exit various programs.

Just for Example:
I run Win Vista (hate it !) with 4gbytes of RAM. I run AB in real time mode with data from IQ Feed. One processor runs AB and the other processor runs IQ Feed data manager. Both CPU's are busy about 50% of the time and I'm using just over 2gbytes or RAM. There is no page file activity on the disk.

I am not a programmer by profession and have self taught myself a fair amount, but sometimes my assumptions about computers etc are just plain wrong, so let me no if my thinking is correct.

I noticed a while ago that when I installed more ram, the first step time did not change as much as the additional step times. I am assuming that the amount of ram is part of this. If the amount of ram is more than the amount of data loaded in to be tested, then I will minimize the time for each additional step after the first pass.
