I will. This is why I asked about CSIData paid service. Does their paid service have more precision? I'm leaning to CSI Data because of Actual Historical prices and Extinct tickers.

Unfortunately you get what you pay for.

Why not subscribe to a paid data service and buy historical data, the annual cost of this would probably be less that a single losing trade

Just so you don't feel too frustrated, you are not alone in getting non-responses at yahoo. Take any subject concerning data at yahoo and substitute it into your received yahoo response and I've seen it. Why certain indexes have no historical data...its the vendor and we hope someone will fix it. Why price data gets decimal points wrong or is missing..its the vendor and we hope someone will fix it. How about adding breadth data that has historical capability, its the vendor and we hope someone will add it.

Sorry to be pessimistic but that's been my experience past year or so

Dave

Subject: [amibroker] Yahoo Historical - Inaccurate Data

FYI on Free Yahoo data:

I recently wrote Yahoo Finance as to why Adj. Close on
the historical
data is only supplied to two decimal places, which
makes it very crude.
For example, CSCO in early 1990 was varies from
$23.00-24.00 while the
Adj. Close = $0.08 for all prices from $23.00 to
24.00.

Elsewhere Yahoo claims CSIData is their data supplier.
Can someone with
CSIData tell me if the database you pay for has the
same limitation?

Hello Terry,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Customer Care.

Currently, our provider supplies the data to two
decimal places.

We are hoping that, in the future, the historical
prices in the adjusted
close column will reflect more decimal places for
convenience.  At this
time, we are unable to determine when this event will
occur.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.

Regards,

John
