AmiBroker Forum - Rules of Conduct (Version 1.1 Dated 6th December 2004)

( Note: Additions or changes to the previous version can be found in sections marked
with the following symbol "+" )

These AmiBroker related forums are here for you, the AmiBroker community. In order to
keep this a friendly and interesting place for all, there are certain rules that need
to be followed. The rules apply to all methods of communication between community
members i.e. forums, private messages, e-mail etc.

These rules are not open for discussion and are not to be discussed on the forum. In
the rare case that you need some clarification (before sending a message to the list)
please contact either the Group Moderator or the AmiBroker Staff directly with your
question.

** Note: For the next month (until the end of December) there will be NO warning given
to members who break these rules (at our discretion), they will be placed on moderation
mode for a period of one week. A second offence will result in that user being banned
from the list (possibly permanently).

1. No Spam. Spamming can be defined as either posting multiple times about the same
thing or starting multiple topics about the same thing.
There are other actions that are considered spamming such as constantly posting
off-topic as well as providing links that have nothing to do with the forum at hand.
Spam will be deleted without warning.

2. No slander. Treat others in your messages as you would like to be treated yourself.
Insults, language or anything offensive will be deleted without warning if considered
unacceptable by an official Moderator or member of the AmiBroker staff. Content that is
insulting to anyone based on gender, lifestyle, religion, ethic group, race etc. is
unacceptable and will be deleted without warning.

3. No flame wars. There is no place for that on these message boards. Topics that are
designed to start a flame war (defined as an abrasive and/or offensive argument that
serves no purpose but to make people upset) will be treated as Spam and deleted without
warning.

+ 4. If you are troubled with something somebody has posted in a thread, please email
the forum Moderator describing your concern and also if possible provide a link or
message number to the thread so that the Moderator can quickly locate it. Please don't
respond by posting a harsh rebuttal to a post that you find disagreeable. This will
only lead to an endless exchange of non-constructive dialog that will not benefit the
users or the forum. Any threads found to be of this nature will be closed and possibly
deleted immediately.

+ 5. Public posts challenging the appropriateness of anyone else's post will not be
tolerated. Decisions on what is appropriate for posting to this list will be a
prerogative of the moderators and the AmiBroker Staff, and shall not be an allowable
topic for list discussion. Under no circumstances should any list member challenge the
appropriateness of any post publicly. Any such questioning or challenging must be made
OFF LIST, privately, to either the original poster or to the moderators. In the end
however, it is the moderators who will decide appropriateness, and list members are
urged to adopt a 'live and let live' policy before complaining to anyone about any post.

+ 6. Stay on-topic. There will be some leniency on this as long as good intent is
behind the subject presented and the subject is connected with trading or the stock
market in some manner. If you think it's a good enough topic, start a new thread about
it. This also prevents losing a good idea in a thread about another topic. Threads that
wander off-topic will be closed and/or trimmed or moved to its appropriate forum.

Some examples:

Main Topics of discussion:

- Using AmiBroker software (installation, usage problems, formulas, hints, tips, etc....)
- Trading techniques (using AmiBroker to implement the technique)

Accepted slightly off-topic discussion:

- Trading in general
- Windows-based software problems (firewalls, data backup, anti-virus, etc) in general
- Hardware problems (example: what hardware is recommended for trading platform, how to
setup multiple monitors, etc)
In general off-topic discussion can be accepted ONLY IF:
- the SUBJECT LINE contains "OFF-TOPIC:" or "OT:" prefix at the beginning (VERY
IMPORTANT to insert the colon at the end to enable easy filtering).
- the discussion is of general interest and not a chat about personal matters between
two members which would preclude anyone else from joining in. All other discussion is
off-topic.

7. No illegal topics. Warez, pornography, copyrighted material, etc. are not welcome
here and will be removed without warning. Posters of such material will be dealt with
on a case by case basis.

8. No impersonating. Attempting to pose as a AmiBroker employee, an employee of
any of affiliates or any other registered user will not be tolerated and will result in
that member being permanently banned. This also applies to variations of registered
names.

9. We, AmiBroker staff and official Moderators, reserve the right to edit, delete,
or ban any content/member from these sites without warning.

10. We also reserve the right to modify these rules without warning.

+ 11. By posting on the AmiBroker Forums you acknowledge that you have read and
understood the forum rules presented here. And, you agree to conduct your business in
the forums in complete accordance with all of the rules stated.

Failure to follow these rules will result in either moderation, a temporary ban or a
permanent ban, based of the severity of the offense.

These boards have become a central place for discussion of AmiBroker related subjects.
They are very important to AmiBroker staff as a direct conduit to our user base. Please
respect these sites and all community members.

Yours Sincerely,
AmiBroker Group Moderator/AmiBroker Staff
