I served with the company for six years before resignation on the 30 of June
of 2002.  I have been answering your questions and those of many others for
four and a half years as an EasyLanguage specialist.

Agreed.  It is always recommended to use variables.  However, this is a
general statement.  The particular sample I provided did not merit the use
of variables in any version of the product.

No I don't remember that you recommended such, but I'm grateful regardless.
Using the variables has speeded up what I'm doing in TS6.
Didn't know the syntax wouldn't work in TS4.
For what I'm doing in TS6 I find many speedups in such simple calculations.
