Sounds like Ezula's "toptext" - installed by spyware eg with kazaa. Check
this site to see if it is what you have:

 http://www.ezula.com/ezula/Download/jump.html

Then get Ad-aware, a free download for removing Spyware from:

 http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Update it and run it regularly - one more layer of defence along with your
firewall, virus software, trojan detection etc. (Toptext is not normally
blocked by your firewall since it uses port 80). If Ad-aware does not work
(it should) then see this page:

  http://www.whirlywiryweb.com/removeezula.htm

Then find out WHO is downloading spyware onto your computer - teenagers
being the prime suspect :-) and software such as kazaa, limewire, morpheus
being common carriers

Subject: here's an awful spam thing

Using IE, whenever certain phrases appear in a webpage, they are converted

to a link that when clicked takes you to someone else's site. For example,

the phrase "financial institutions" is linked to AMEX. As it doesn't happen

on all PCs, there's "something" on a PC that causes the spam to occur.

Removed cookies, but the spam utility is still there. Any suggestions would

be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
