Now seriously, here's what I think (for starters) they should change in
their build / install / update / status processes.  I'm stinging from the
last upgrade experience...

1) Include the ability for users to roll forward and roll back
installations.

I've managed many hardware and software projects and NEVER, EVER, EVER, did
I leave myself or my customer without some sort of backout plan defined that
could be followed "just in case" there is a problem and we had a "no go"
situation. My trading is my business, so this stuff HAS to work.  If it
doesn't, I expect to be able to roll back to the last version.   I knew at
some point they would have us upgrade and  we would have severe problems
that would cost ALL of us money.  Yes, we could all have 2 systems and keep
everything synched, but why?  I'm just not that bored.

2) Better out-of-band communications.  If you can't sign on to TS6, you
won't see the messages they send via the APP...

Take Interactive Brokers for example...  You can use the "Bulletin" button
in the APP to find out what's happening, or it blinks if they have an update
for you.  But ***ALSO*** they have status one click off of their home page
***AND*** they give you recorded status of problems while they route your
phone calls.  They know they have to let their customers know what's going
on.  Communicate, communicate, communicate.  give us some out-of-band (not
in the app) options.
