FileDelete and FileAppend error handling?

Does TS4 & TS2k handle errors in FileDelete and FileAppend gracefully?
I'd like to delete a file from ANOTHER program besides TS, and it
will, sooner or later, try to do it while TS is processing the same
file.

Does TS barf or otherwise have problems, or is the write/delete error
handled well? (I know about the read-only, but that's not what I want
to do.)
