Trend line does not extend to right correctly

Hi Guys,

I am having a problem with extending trend lines to the
right.  Any solutions.

The trend line is drawn from peak to peak and then
format extend right is picked.  The trend line becomes
a vertical line at the right end point rather than
extending correctly.
