I am planning to switch brokers and would welcome recommendations.
I live in So. California and my current account is with a full-service
broker. Because I am a position trader (S&P only), commission size is not
my first concern. I have in the past chosen a full-service broker not for
their investment advice but because:
a. I want a firm with a history of reliability and financial soundness.
b. I don't want the confusion of needing accounts with several different
firms (IB, etc.) and banks,
c. I like to keep an ample balance in cash to cover any drawdowns, so I
expect to be paid interest on free credit balances,
d. I need someone with access to a Bloomberg terminal to get me occasional
updates on S&P fair-value parameters.
e. I need the convenience of being able to get a withdrawal check on short
notice, if that should become necessary.
I also need fast executions and availability of a backup person for times
when my primary customer rep is on vacation or whatever.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Carroll S.
