Hi Folks,
I am kind of inactive for many years, and I come back today with a question which I assume someone already answered, but I can't find it, so if you may lead me there I will appreciate it, otherwise here is what is in my mind.
When Bollinger Bands narrow often it is similar to those still waters before the storm. The narrowing of the bands do not tell us the direction of the move, but it shows us that this is indecision time and the longer it gets, the quieter it becomes and the Bollinger bands narrow. At some point, many times it is either an explosion to up, or waterfall to down emerges. I want to write an exploration that will give me the list of the stocks with Bollinger Bands have narrowed down substantially. I do not know how to measure that narrowness. I have a 13 Time Period, 5 Deviations, with 0 Horizontal shift BB which I plot over a custom indicator (MATI (Moving Average Trend Indicator)) which is an average of several different moving averages and this one narrows quite substantially. So, can you help me on this one, your time and effort is much appreciated.
