Can anyone help me with this please? I would like to make a MetaStock
Indicator out of it. It was used by a chartist who wrote a column in a
Sunday paper for years. Whenever the indicator crossed over, it always
work as a buy signal and whenver it crossed, it was always used as a
sell signal.

The Grail is the Close minus a 3 period moving average of the close
expressed as a percentage.
A long term average is appied to the Grail
Grail = Close ? 3period_MA_Close
Ave = Xperiod MA(Grail)
