One could use the analogy of an elastic band between the actual price and the moving average. It always returns to the moving average ! Perhaps using this feature one could make a programme that would be of some use ?? Can't quite think how to do it at the mo.

I just noticed that you independently rediscovered Curtis Dahl?s delayed moving average method.

If you use a fast and slow moving average you would get faster responses.

Both methods are analogs of MACD.
