More on multiple MS installations on one PC.

Which version did you reinstall first? I've never had serious problems with several versions of MS installed on the same PC. Naturally they cannot reside in the same folder, but I wonder what would happen if you installed 9.2 first and then 7.0? Older supporting dlls might cause a problem for 9.2, or a flaky mix might cause problems for both. Uninstalling an older version AFTER installing a newer version will definitely cause problems, but more likely a failure to boot. Presumably this is because files essential to the newer version are removed along with the older version. As far as I'm aware the Registry cannot differentiate between different installed versions of MS, and the latest installation of MS provides the only support files it knows about.

This is probably the source of your problem - there may be 
Windows registry conflicts between the two versions running on 
the same PC.

In any case, I wouldn't be using bug-prone MS Pro v7.0 if I were 
you.
