If you are asking about updating the metastock data from an ASCII file source, you would need a specially written program for that, which stores the data in Metastock format.
If you are asking to convert Metastock data into ASCII, the answer still remains the same.
Metastock data stores its data in binary format. Which can be read only through software.
Downloader does just that.
If you are asking to convert ASCII data and append it to ASCII file, you would still need a specially written software, even though you can do it manually. Doing the updation manually can be very painstaking and prone to errors.
