WordPad read only garbage from my file renamed .txt. Same thing for
Excel.

Pierre, .txt
and .prn are effectively the same thing ie AsCII format.. Your Excel
should be able to import them it gives you a wizardwhether its comma or
tab delimited.
If it does not import simply rename the file extension from .prn to

Sorry, I don't see a SAVE function.
I have the same problem with MS 8.0. I tried PRINT and I checked
PRINT
TO FILE, but this file is not in .TXT but rather .PRN and it's
not
readable by WORD or EXCEL, etc.
