There's no way to know for sure. My guess would be 
failure though. Without paying attention to the prevailing trend, you will be 
whipsawed quite a bit.  I don't believe a single technical indicator, no 
matter how good, is effective for trading all the time. It's all a percentage 
game, remember.

  Being a novice at technical analysis, I was 
  wondering if some could help me with the following proposal. If I was to take 
  my entire porfolio and trade either the QQQ or DIA using a simple 30 day 
  moving average, would I be a success or a failure. Seems to me that it is a 
  profitable system
