Bill:
Since Office 2000 is being phased out, you might be
able to get a copy fairly cheaply. Try Computer's Worth Inc 1 800 838 7884. They
are in Garland TX.  I've dealt with them in the past, service and prices
were good.

Excel 2000 is easier to use and better  than
older versions.

  Herman:

Just what the doctor ordered.  However, I
suspect that you are using a later version of Excel than my 97.  As a
result, Excel doesn't like to save the worksheet.  Would it be possible
to send a file that is saved as Excel 97?

    Subject: [Metastockusers] 3D charting
    macro to verify robustnes
Hi,Charting the opt results produced by the MS System
tester is an excellentway to verify the robustnes of your trading
system. The attached Excelmacro makes 2D and 3D charts. It is a
bare-minimum quicky and I didn'tspend much time polishing it
up.If you can improve it please share your improvements with the
list. To use it:1) This macro only charts opt1 and opt2 and you'll
have to keep the numberof tests to less than 1000 - MS only retains the
best 1000 tests, so if youuse more the opt data will be non-contiguous.
Copy the data from the MSSystems Tester's Summary Report window to your
clip board using Ctl-C.2) To chart your data, open up sheet1 in the
workbook. Delete all data on(ONLY) this sheet. Paste the data from your
clip board at cell "A1". PressCtrl-t and the program will update the 3D
Table, 2D Chart, and 3D Chart toreflect your data. The macro will ask
you to confirm four page deletes - Icouldn't be bothered to figure out
how to skip this window (if anybodyknows please tell me).A
robust system will give you a smooth surface with a gradual peaking
atthe highest profit. If you have lots of peaks or if they are very
sharp youhave a problem ... if you ahave lots of negative areas you're
at high risk.Unless you know what you are doing don't mess with the
code or renamesheets, I did not put any safeguards in to prevent crashes
    or error messages.Have
    fun!Herman.------------------------
