I don't know what the wtc symbolizes to the rest of the world, but as a
Canadian it has a very specific meaning to me.
To me, it is the symbol of people who work hard. Two 100+ story tall
intellectual factories. People and businesses who worked 2 and 3 shifts to
get the work done.
These are not factories of drones, but factories of intelligent people, hard
working people.
Whoever destroyed this factory did not destroy a "symbol", because a factory
only houses the talent and industry of hard working people.
That ethic of hard work and industry does not need 100+ story buildings to
carry on or even to exist.
To the firemen and policeman and other rescue works who gave their lives to
help others ... it tears your heart out.
