Lionel: I use IRL program for the function generating an index of prices and volume. In the case of the DJ-30 index I use the Dow 30 stocks. The Irl program was available through Equis when I bought it. If they do not still offer it for sale I will get the company name that owns the rights for you. Someone in the last few days in our group mentioned buying it. They may have bought it from Equis.

The other way that I can think of is to gather all 30 stocks ( I am gathering them now) and transfer that data to a spread sheet and then you may calculate with these numbers as you desire and transfer the resulting data file back to Metastock for analysis. I am not sure how one could make this operation totally happen by program, perhaps most of it.

Perhaps someone in our group may feel inclined to offer a suggestion. I have reading e-mail of this group for many months and the content of the communication indicates the sum of the group members offer considerable amount of knowledge and experience.

Please keep the group informed as I am sure that it will be interesting and informing of your progress.

John:
In a recent posting you said that you maintain your own volume for the Dow Jones Average.
I have the three D-J averages in separate folders, how can I use the Metastock program to add up the volume in each member stock so that I can display it with the particular average?
thanks
