Our kids are excited about Halloween. Michael (8 years old) is going to be
a monster, Christopher (6) a cowboy, Jonathan (3) Darth Vader, and Anna (6
months) a pumpkin....
I've been wondering what I'll do for a costume and I finally figured it
out...
I'm going to wrap myself up in a paper scroll of the historical Dow Jones
Industrial Average...
But I thought it would be interesting to get your feedback on the fear
inspired by my costume.
So, in the spirit of the holiday, I've attached a file "Dow_Boo!.doc". It
is an MS Word 6.0 document that contains two charts. One showing the Dow in
1986/1987 and the other 1996/1997.
The moving averages are 50 and 200 day simples. The end dates on the
quadrants on the right side of the charts are the dates that the Dow touched
the 200 day moving average.
Boo!
