I don’t have any suggestions to your issues of importing
(other than to pre-filter your ASCII file beforehand, using a utility such as
GREP or SED).
E.g. grep “^...,” inputfile.txt > outputfile.txt
However, you should note that some ASX codes are greater than 3
letters in length for normal securities that you probably should be considering
such as:
1.Securities in deferred settlement due to a corporate action (i.e.
???DA)
2.Partly paid securities (i.e. ???CA)
3.Different classes of securities (i.e. NWSLV)
