Can't help you with old data. BUT, I would caution
about relying on yahoo for any index data. Its not very good and suspect at
best. Especially the volume aspects of index data. To convince yourself just
look at volume data of one of the major indexes and compare to it to similar
data at say, Stock Charts or Barcharts.com,  http://www2.barchart.com/ .

If indexes are important, my suggestion would be to
subscribe to one of the many downloadable services available, the cost could be
offset with one decent trade, or make your own index using AB's composite
function, Addtocomposite.

  David,
Thanks - unfortunately I now have gaps in my
data back to May - I did not realise that the data was not being imported
as Amiquote said it was being imported but infact it was not
  available.
If I could get the back data I could do as you suggest and
import it daily. I need it cos I have my sector setup based in these
  indicies.
If anyone knows where I can get the history I'd be very
  grateful.

have gone by the wayside in yahoo historic as well as the ones you've
mentioned but still available in the "current" category. > >
To check the status simply use  http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=% 5EDJUSAI
, for current prices available and click on "historical prices" to see if
  those are available. > > Dave > . >
