 I just
bough a cheap dual card and plugged it in. Together with
the built-in video of my compaq presario this gives me three monitors. I
remember twiddling the settings a bit but i have been using it for about
two years without problems. I think i used winXP default drivers for all
three monitors, the fancy drivers/programs (desktop switching) that came with
the video card gave problems and i uninstalled them. I use WinXP that
came with the computer.

best
regards,
herman
  Currently I have two
19 inch monitors which is a big improvement over one, but sometimes I wish
  there was a third monitor.
Are there workable alternatives to the
  expensive quad display video cards?
Is it as simple as putting a
PCI based dual card into an open PCI slot? Or will that PCI card creat
conflicts with my main AGP video
  card?
