broker.charts and broker.bcharts are left unchanged. New version just "extracts" formulas from them
and creates individual formula files in Formulas\Old\Builtin and Formulas\Old\Custom.
Nothing is lost. And you can revert back to previous version.
However if you create some new indicator using NEW version and later decide to move back to previous version,
you would just need to insert those newly created indicators manually.
 
So you can safely install any version (newer and older).

Thanks for the new update containing things you promised several months ago that it would contain.

 

I have not installed it yet and want to ask the following very key question (at least for myself).

 

If I install 4.64 and then decide I do not want to use this new interface, can I simply run the setup program for the previous version to re-install it over the 4.64 program?

 

If this is done, what happens to the broker.charts / broker.bcharts files which have been converted by the 4.64 installation?  I suspect I have to “restore” the Amibroker directory from a previous backup of my drive to get back to 4.63.1.

 

Is this correct?

A new beta version (4.64.0) of AmiBroker has just been released.

It is available for registered users only from the members area at:

Among other new things:

+ Indicator Builder replaced by full-screen AFL editor (allows to edit multiple files at the same time)

+ Indicators are now saved in separate AFL files

+ Formula tree now allows rename/delete/create new file/folder

+ enancements of drag&drop interface
+ N-tick bars are supported by TimeFrame functions

 

Please read the Read Me document (below) for detailed list of new features and changes.

There will be also a series of new video tutorials explaining new features published on Monday.
