Depends on your datafeed and data tools. I can show you MSFT with and
without the $3 dividend by simply clicking a box in my data program. If you
aren't seeing a $3 drop, then your data has been backadjusted for the
special dividend.

Hi,
I posted a message about a month or so ago regarding MSFT's special $3
dividend. I, and I think others as well, were expecting to see a
corresponding $3 drop in price somewhere between the ex-dividend date and
the "shareholder of record date" - 11/17/04. Since then, the shareholders
have approved the div and these dates have passed, yet looking at the chart,
I don't see the drop I was expecting. Anyone know why not? Maybe we will see
it in 12/2, the payment date? Thanks for any explanations!
