Greg - you can save custom indicators to the Formulas folder, and they will then be listed under the Charts tab as well as all the built-in indicators. I have mine in a "Custom" folder within the Formulas folder
I did figure that one out after having my "DUH!" moment forgetting about the double-click needed to put one of those formulae into a new pane :)
