Ken,

Currently it always defaults to candle.
You can however create your own price formula that will default to line.
And.. of course you can suggest some other solution.

BTW: "main chart", "indicators" and "other indicators" preference pages
will be removed in future releases because setting parameters
is now entirely via new param system.
