Nope, already tried that: gives a "too many arguments" error. Yes the
O3G.exe can take a file argument because it works fine in the Tools menu. It
does create a new instance of the O3G... so i end up with a group to close
at the end. I also tried all kind of embedded slashes ...
A 3D chart refresh would be nicer... If we could get this going we could
even make Real Time Heat maps :-) to help us pick stocks in real time.

OK, I found out what was wrong: the alert had to be enabled from the AA
in
Preferences (not mentioned in the function reference), and enable repeat
alerts this code will do it:
AlertIf(True, "EXEC C:\\Program Files\\AmiBroker\\O3G.exe","",0,0);
I am halfway there, the only thing left now is to pass the Optimize.csv
argument to the O3G.exe in the Alert function, anybody knows how to do
that?

Your line of code is the correct one but it doesn't work, did you try
it?

does works from my Tools menu with "Optimize.csv" in the argument box.
So
everything works fine that way. However even without the argument the
O3G.exe doesn't want to launch through the Alert function. Also, I
don't
know how to pass an arument in the Alert function.
What i am after is an automatic 3D chart refresh after each explore or
Backtest, so that i can leave the 3D chart displayed on another
monitor
while I develop code and do research. Perhaps an afl function like
Refresh3DChart() would be nice :-)
An suggestions on how to get this to work?
