Ken,
Netcaptor was listed as a spyware because of its use of Aureate, Web3000 or Flyswat services.
If you want a 'clean' tabbed browser you may try Mozilla Firebird at http://www.mozilla.org/ or, if you prefer IE engine, Sleipnir at http://www20.pos.to/~sleipnir/. Both are almost completely customizable.
