While I don't wish to offend a fellow long-time
contributor, I think it's time for someone to speak up on these link only
posts. This is a "discussion forum". It's my opinion that link-only posts
contribute nothing to discussion and are intended to further traffic at the
poster's website. I also understand the desire to avoid repetitive typing of
material. I would like to suggest two solutions:
Post a synopsis of the material for discussion and a link for
those who want additional information
Copy and paste the relevant material to the NG for
discussion.
In either case, there is material posted directly to the NG for
debate and discussion which is the intended purpose of the
NG.
