Kate,

I think this may be what you are talking about. Note the solid black line above the overbought stochastics on the daily ES (same on weekly). This says trend remains up and one should be a buyer when the stochastic reaches the 20 zone and turns up. I use both the daily and weekly on the NYSE and NASDAQ in my weekend work as part of a suite of technical and fundamental indicators to evaluate the general tone and trend of the market. I don't use it for timing trades.

Earl,

You mentioned Advanced Get.. In a seminar I attended they showed a proprietary tool that goes with the stochastics which essentially tells you when to ignore an overbought/oversold reading. Do you use it and if so what has been your experience? I think it is related to the 'Dashboard'.

Thanks

Kate

Attached 60 minute chart shows something which always tickles my gut when it happens. They took the ES (Dec) down within 4 ticks of the pivot low where the retracement tool is sitting (at 1303) and held it. This is frequently the first tip-off that a reversal may be in store. I will be out quickly if price does not follow through to the downside quickly.
