take a look at BITM (www.tarnsoft.com). They have a free trial.
Incidentally, Mathematica does have a Time Series add-on package.

I was hoping to get some replies from people using software other than
tradestation so I'll try posting again. I myself use excaliber, a
fortran based program Futures Truth used to sell. But the charting is
abysmal which forces me to use behold for visual aids. For more
complete portfolio runs I load all the daily equities into a few perl
scripts. I then use bloomberg for live data and for system updates.
This works but forces me to use several applications. I have used and
shied away from tradestation due to its lack of batch portfolio runs and
several other problems. It appears to me that one of the current math
software packages, ( matlab, mathematica, gauss, splus, etc) would be a
better platform to build from as they can handle the calculations
easily, offer multidimensional graphing ( for correlation analysis,
system report analysis, etc ). But from what I have seen most of these
packages do not have add-ons for financial time series testing. I know
such software can be built such software, and while I can code systems
and am fine at modifying existing modules, I am not a software developer
and do not want to build such a platform from scratch. I am interested
in hearing from people who have experience, good or bad, with these
other platforms.
