risk reward does not   reward enough  on a 10 point spread
I always do it on expiration day
I let them expire worthless on expiration
BUT  i watch it daily on my fax report from the  broker
if i am at a loss of  2000 for  each 10  calls and puts i  close the position
at a loss
I lose  3 times a year  and win  9 month a year
