The psychology of trading appears to be an excellent topic.  Douglas' view,
in The Discipined Trader as mentioned by Ray, is that it's not the trader
against the market but the trader against him or herself.  The trader and
the trader alone determines how much money he or she wants to give himself.
For example, it takes a certain discipline  to hang on when  your
tradeable's indicators are all green and firmly attached to the launch of
the next space shuttle.
