Yorker:

1. I am no authority on W.D Gann. - talk to Norman Winski who probably can be
called an authority.

2. I never said Gann did not use Technical Analysis. What I said was that his
famous predictions were based on planetary cycles. Norman Winski might be
helpful as to which ones. I attended a seminar with Jeanne Long who in Astro
circles has a good reputaiton, and she explained which cycles she believes he
used, because she went back to old charts, and through the use of cycles,
commonly known in those days, pinpointed the exact time. Did he use
"traditional" technical analysis, I am sure he did, did he make lots of money
using this and good money management, i am sure he did. My point was just to
state that Gann used astrology.
3. There is documentation by Robert Zoller in "A Traders Astrological Almanac
1997 Edited by Jeanne Long". that in 1928, Gann had an astrological
consultation with a George Plummer, who read his chart. Gann wrote as his
profession "Financial Statistician and Astrologer" on the form.. The original
was found in a basement in New York some where. Obviously there is other
evidence, that he used astrology. Did he say " I have a $2,999:00 + tax course
on financial astrology, it really works" No. If you want a copy of the
article, send me you fax number.

4. Gann was a very complicated man. Some have suggested that in the 1930's to
1950's it was not prudent to tell people you were using astrology, posssibly
not good for business. Apparently that seems also true in 1997.

5. As for Elders comment on Gann, I discussed this with Nikki Jones of
Lamberton Gann Publishing Company, who is writing a biography on Gann. She
believes that Elder's comments are unjustified. Gann's son was estranged from
Gann. Apparently there was a messy marriage, and not a good relationship with
the son. So that raises the credibility of the son as a good source of info as
to "where is the money" I asked Nikki Jones, well did he stash the money away,
she suggested he may have transferred money overseas, he apparently did not
want his family getting money. Who knows. Maybe Norman Winski, might shed
light.

6. Gann apparently was a colorful character, lived a lifestyle that suggested
he made pots of money, no doubt a brilliant man, with a fascination for math,
numbers, geometry, who probably did not tell the full story in his books, or
courses, which has spawned a huge Gann industry, ranging no doubt from
mystics, nutcases to solid people who use his methods, and the same astrology
that he no doubt used.
