I wanted to publically thank BobR about his work on the VIX and the
McClellan oscillator interpretation. It is just a reminder that at
least with the NYSE, and CBOE, one has access to statistics that aren't
solely based on price and should be consulted.
Relying solely on price, without consulting these statistics at hand is
like driving a car while looking in a mirror. One can easily get caught
up in the minutia. When if you just looked at the advance/decline
volume or the a/d line.. this was just another pause...and would help
you interprete this as "just" a triangle and not a top.
