I haven't noticed any difference in the quality of fills for lot
sizes that are multiples of 10 or 50, provided that the order size
is less than 200 or so. For larger orders, I haven't tried it; I
just round to the nearest 100 shares.

I'd say for large orders, go ahead and round. For small orders, odd
lots work fine for stocks that have reasonable volume.

For me, odd lots are only appropriate for expensive stocks (say
above $50/share). For penny stocks, I would *never* use odd lots.
Sometimes the minimum lot size is 1000 shares for penny stocks.

Those are my opinions, based on empirical experience.
