RE: iQfeed>dynastore>tradestation2k

Chas,

This happens because of the well-known and well-forgotten bug in ts2k: it
redraws a chart when the quote for one of the Electronic Futures has a
non-zero Trade Volume.

There are 3 ways to fix this:

1. Fool Global Server :-) In Dynastore portfolio editor, set "ITV" field
(standing for "Ignore Trade Volume") to ON for all of your Electronic
Futures. In this case, Dynastore will replace the actual trade size of the
quote with zero. Of course, if you're using the trade volume in your charts
and/or analysis, this is not suitable solution.

2. Fool Global Server the other way :-)) You need to create your Electronic
Futures symbols in Global Server as Stocks or Indices. For example "ES U6"
should be created as Stock (or Index) with CME set as an Exchange. Global
Server will warn you that this is not correct name for this category, but it
will work after that.

3. Hack Global Server :-))) Follow this instruction (will require some work
with registry editor - regedit.exe):

3a. Shutdown all 2000i programs.
3b. Open "My Computer" and go to \(location of 2000i
programs)\server\dbconline
3c. Double click on file ExchMan.txt - you will see

;DBC Online Exchange Manager
39

3d. Change the second line to
5,39

3e. Save the file

3f. Run regedit.exe

3g. Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Omega Research\Server\DBC
SubServer.Signal" (not "Online!!!")

3h. Right-click at the right pane and add a String named
"ExchangeManagerFile" (without quotation marks)

3i. Double-click at the new string named "ExchangeManagerFile" and type in
the direct path to the file exchman.txt:
c:\(location of 2000i programs)\server\dbconline\exchman.txt

3j. Start 2000i again and check if the redraw effect is gone.

The 3rd way is prefferrable, as , togther with this flickering issue it also
reduces the CPU load by Global Server significantly.

Sincerely yours,
Dmitri Bogucharsky

i have moved to the DTN iqfeed and have a small problem the data is properly
collected via dynastore and sent to Tradstaion

------- but as it arrives each tick generates a redraw of the chart

i have had quotecom data via dynastore to TS2k for years with no problems,
and if i switch back momentarily then no redraw problem.

if anyone has encountered this problem, any ideas will be appreciated
