Re: Protecting Indicator Code

Hi John,

There are different approaches depending on the level of protection and the value of your package. One approach is to put your key algoritms in DLLs and protect the DLLs to deter opening of your code. Then use expiration date, TS Customer ID, TS Network ID, machine ID, etc, to control the use of your indicators or systems. I have seen systems with code to contact servers for authentification.

Nothing is uncrackable. However, if you have put some layers of protection, it will greatly discourage unauthorized use. That would serve the purpose.

Hi,

Is there a way to track TS indicators that you have written and saved in
protected format to discourage shared use after sale?

I was thinking of an E-mail notification in an Alert but can't find that in
the help in a manner that does what I want. I need to do this in both TS2k
and TS8.1.

Thanks,

John
