OT: why your mail is blocked

Andrew,

I think I know two reasons why Verizon is blocking you.

1. You don't have a valid reverse DNS. That is, your domains
resolve to your IP addresses, but your IP addresses don't resolve
in reverse to your domains. The domain mail.tssupport.com resolves
to 217.16.28.169. Tssupport.com resolves to 217.16.28.166. The
first IP address is an alias for a completely different domain,
qmail1.informa.ru, but even that doesn't resolve in reverse. This
is a sign of a misconfigured entry in your domain name server, and
these days there's no excuse for that, so it's a sign of a spammer.
These days, many ISPs will refuse mail connections from domains that
don't resolve back to the IP address from which the connection is
made. This prevents mail forgeries, a typical ploy of spammers.

2. Your IP addresses are listed in SORBS, a fairly well trusted
blocking list. According to SORBS, they received spam to their
spamtraps on 16 March 2004, from koncert.ru. It is possible they no
longer occupy that IP address. However, various spammers occupy the
whole address block 217.16.16.0-217.16.31.255. These are gotov.ru,
kak-po-tv.ru, ckz.ru/asiapress.ru, ukt.ru, rakushki.ru, mebgamma.ru,
autonomer.ru, corleone.ru, polikomplast.ru, koncert.ru, xprint.ru,
maxima-travel.ru, and unitcon.ru.

Your ISP is apparently informa.ru. They own "your" IP addresses,
so only they can get these IP addresses de-listed. Provided (and
ONLY if) the spammers are gone, informa.ru may request a de-listing
through www.sorbs.net.

Verizon has, lately, been pretty good about keeping spammers from
inhabiting their own network, so it's understandable that they have
taken a harder line against attempts to spam their customers.

I hope this helps.
