But this approach is very tricky to use for backtesting. You then need to store all the values from one chart for all bars then retrieve them in the other chart.

And since all bars of each chart are run at different times, it is impossible to move back and forth between charts on a bar-to-bar basis.

Then you have real problems on short trading days and holidays when things can get out of sync.

A single data stream is always the most reliable, in my experience...
